Mount Abu a hill station in Rajasthan, India, which stands out in sharp contrast to the arid region of the entire state. Situated on the Aravali range, history indicates that it was a summer retreat for the royalty as early as the 1st and 2nd century. Reference of Mount Abu is also found in ancient Hindu scriptures. The highest peak is Guru Shikhar, at 1722 meters above sea level. Guru Shikhar is often referred to as 'an oasis in the desert', as the hill is home to rivers, lakes, waterfalls and evergreen forests. Major tourist attractions in Mt. Abu are forests, place of worship, museums and art gallery, wild life sanctuaries and a few water bodies.
Mount Abu is well connected by road with major cities of Northern and Western India including Ahmedabad and Mumbai from West and Udaipur, Jaipur and New Delhi in the north. The best time to visit Mount Abu is mid march to June and mid September to December.

Achalgarh The famous Achalgarh fort is built by the Rana Kumbha of the Mewar dynasty. Perched on the top of the hill, the fortress is fortified with massive walls .These walls have many look out points providing a scenic view of the mountain range. The Achaleswar Temple is more than 2500 years old. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, it is the only temple on earth where the Big Toe of Lord Shiva is worshipped. The temple is associated with having a lot of mystic and miraculous power.

Guru Shikhar is the highest point in Rajasthan and is located at a distance of 15Km. from Mount Abu. Situated on this peak is the Dattatreya temple dedicated to the Guru Dattatreya an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
