60 kms from Shimla, Narkanda is blessed by nature with wonderful slopes some of which are still unexplored. For experienced and seasoned skiers this is the most sought after tourist destination. Ice-skating is very popular in Shimla. Kufri-Considered as the winter sports capital of India, Kufri is famous for being the only natural ice rink in India. Several ice skating festivals are held here as it is a very popular sport both for the tourists and the localites alike. With slopes around Kufri it is a skiers’ paradise as well. Kufri comes alive in winter from December to march when it starts to snow.

The beauty of the place can not be enjoyed unless you are on foot. The Himachal Pradesh tourism department has encouraged several trekking organisations to organise trekking expedition. There are several routes offered depending on the level of experience and endurance. Trekking equipments and guides are also provided by these organisations .


Only for those who are initiated into this sport, the Himalayan mountain range around Shimla offers a perfect starting point for a mountaineering expedition.


Angling as a sport is catching up.The streams and shallow waters around Shimla is an absolute tourist destination for angling or fishing. Streams of Rohru, pabber, Chirgoon Tikri are perfect spots for good catch.


Set amidst thick forests of Oak and Pine, Naldehra has a nine hole golf course at an altitude of 2044 metres .Naldehra is considered as the most challenging Golf course yet it draws golfers again and again. The idyllic sceneries, the many hued birds chirping in the woods, the temple bell in the nearby hamlets add special effects while at the game.
