South Mumbai

South Mumbai or Mumbai-at- sea is the most happening place in the city and includes Colaba, Parel, Mahim, Worli, and Nariman Point. It is the primary financial hub of the city due to the presence of Bombay Stock Exchange, Reserve Bank of India and several important markets like Zaveri Bazar and Crawford Market, etc. Being an integral market area of Mumbai, this is the best spot for shopping as there are innumerable malls and markets here. Two of the important railway stations - the CST terminus and Churchgate station are located here and staying here keeps one close to the city center too. South Mumbai is around 20-25 kms from Mumbai West/Central which is the main hub.

Central Mumbai (Goregaon, Andheri, Santa Cruz, Juhu, Bandra)

Central and West Mumbai are the city center and consists of popular areas like Bandra, Andheri and Juhu. The International Airport is situated here and so is the National Stock Exchange building and other financial sectors on Dalal Street. The areas proximity to the international and domestic airport makes it an easily accessible zone and most of the good hotels and properties are situated here within a 2-3 kms area. Nearby attractions include Siddhivinayak Temple in Andheri, the Marine Drive, Mahim Church and the Bandra area is famous for its Bandstand Promenade and Carter Road.

US Consulate

The US Consulate in Mumbai is situated in the famous Bandra-Kurla Complex in Bandra (East) area. Staying near the Consulate will keep travelers in close proximity to a major commercial area in West-Central Mumbai as well as making it each to visit the US consulate if you need to.

Gateway of India

It is probably Mumbaiís most easily recognizable landmark and this colonial era structure was built to commemorate the visit of King George V in 1911. The structure is located on the Mumbai Harbor in the south and is directly opposite the Hotel Taj Mahal Palace. From a visitorís point of view, there is nothing to see except the structure itself but roam around here to have a feel of the city. Staying near the area could be an advantage for shopaholics as there are a huge cluster of markets here.

Jain Temple

The Jain Temple at Walkeshwar in Malabar Hill is the most famous Jain temple in the city and its full name is Babu Amichand Panalal Adishwarji Jain Temple. The temple is a striking architectural marvel with an exquisitely designed inner dome and structures. The Temple is a tranquil place and is a good spot to visit with family.
